Dwarf Poinciana, Before Drought

Photos from our back yard Dwarf Poinciana in 2015. We had 2 really big bushes and several growing in buckets.

They bloom year-round here and even the foliage was beautiful

Bob planted seeds from these pods and each time it made these beautiful flowers.

We had hundreds of butterflies and many different kinds because each came to a different flower

Royal Poinciana Tree

We found this Poinciana Tree on our Sunday morning drive with Beau hanging out the window. It should be flowers only and much brighter ran, due to drought, it is not. It is still beautiful. They are common here in Florida

below is a photo from Edison Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers Florida.

I wanted you to see the beautiful flowers up close

I'M back with yet another Dwarf Poinciana

Both computers are ready to roll when I get the email from Microsoft and it only took about 7 hours...  Photo's today of our Jungle yesterday.

Last week I accidentally hit the up arrow on the round thingy that makes a camera go up down and sideways... does anyone know what it is called?

The top of that thingy is for wireless use of the camera which I have never touched.

The hidden thing is the Exposure Compensation... with the little slide up i can hold the camera up and watch the photo change BEFORE I push the button

.... I am driving Bob nuts showing him 3 exposures of each photo. We were eating lunch and I took 3 shots of HIM eating and said Look What This does?

He said "YES you showed me this yesterday"....

Did I? she asked innocently..  "But look at THIS ONE"

What do we see?

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.
John Lubbock 1834-1913

I found this quote on Facebook and it fit perfectly with my seed pod photos.

John also said ''Happiness is a thing to be practiced, like the violin''

this seed pod on our Dwarf Poinciana made me feel happy

Perfect Poinciana Pods

Ralph Waldo Emerson said it all in this quote.
"The landscape belongs to the person who looks at it"

And LOOK is what I do, they are just to beautiful to ignore.
I shot these at 10:33 AM, direct sunlight by setting the Shutter Speed at 1/320 - F/4.5 and ISO 100
which proves we can get good photos in bright sun
I had no idea what I was doing, just kept changing it until I liked it.

and across the yard in another bucket, is the most perfect shaped pod we have ever had.

Butterfly - Passion - Poinciana

Imagine 11 of these pods blooming at one time, it calls me all day

they get food and water from this plant

I know I am  old when I am  taking clothes out of the basket to put in the washer, and I jump 3 feet high and backwards because there is a big roach in the basket... .... it was a BROWN LEAF...

I know I am  old when I  can't tell if the black spots around my head are gnats or floaters in the eye...

they lay there eggs on this passion vine

GOOD NEWS is Amazon.com is moving 20 miles from us...BAD NEWS is we will have to pay 7 percent sales tax when we order...
can you see the ballerina?

Dwarf Poinciana for the umpteenth time

Each year in the Month of June, I decide I have posted enough photos of the dwarf poinciana and that I will NOT post another one or even TAKE another one.

The thing is, this is in the jungle that I view from the swing each morning...

and this gorgeous plant lives in a bucket, alas we have no room to put it in the ground unless we chop down part of the jungle.

Baby Girl do NOT even think of eating the rose moss.

there are 10 of the stalks on the left today and 5 that are blooming like the one on the left.

I rest my Case! How could I NOT take another photo???

Tomorrow, the Jungle She sees from the swing.
